PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM.JK) confirms that the Company is currently reviewing to consolidate its data center business to be managed by an entity within the Telkom Group. The Company also states that after completing the consolidation review, it will continue to find the best unlocking value options that will provide the greatest benefit to the Company.
Based on the letter to the Authority on Friday (10/22), the reason behind the data center merge plan is that the data center business has a higher potential value than the telecommunications business. Therefore, the plan will provide higher value for the Telkom Group if the value unlocking of the data center business is carried out.
The Company also states that the consolidation and value unlocking of the data center business is expected to be realized in the next 2-3 years. Considering its strategy to transform into a digital telecommunications company, the Company realizes that the data center plays an important role in Telkom's digital ecosystem. Thus, consolidating and value unlocking of the data center is expected to create higher value for all stakeholders of the Company.
